By Tara Sutphen
The Full Blue Moon (Native American) at 10* Libra will culminate, March 31, 2018 5:37am PDT/8:37am EDT/New Zealand April 1, 2018 1:37am (Farmers Almanac).
This Libra Moon is asking us to develop our balance and synch to our abilities. You are to look for what naturally fits to your nature and not add a square peg to a round hole, when it comes to anything you want to do or achieve. This moon and its aspects are all about you coming back to your lovability and congeniality. Your destiny is to flow, if there is a question to any direction, it is not the right answer. We aren’t supposed to know everything, but when we use our inner guidance system. We gain a perspective of going in the right direction over a wrong one. And if we tend toward destructive behavior in any way, that certainly isn’t the right direction. We are constantly need to come back to center, being brave and in resonance no matter the outside circumstances. Allow for Grace. What makes you feel at peace, practice that feeling every day.*How to become balanced:
PHYSICAL: health and the way we treat our cleanliness, posture, and overall treat our bodies is a part where being balanced. Our body is the most precious gift we have and without it we can’t exist. If we don’t stay healthy we certainly can’t enjoy all the other aspects of life.
2. MENTAL: You want to exercise your mind to keep it working properly. Keep your cognitive abilities sharp. If you don’t take care of your body it will deteriorate, and this can also be true of your mind.
3. EMOTIONAL: Managing our emotions is important. When engaging with our feelings it’s best to work with our intelligence. In this way we learn what we want and how we can be fulfilled. We need always to resolve our feelings and never be irrational. It’s easy to forget how to manage our emotional world.4.SOCIAL: There is a certain amount of human socializing people need. We learn to treat humankind with courtesy and fairness when we are interacting with each other. Sometimes there are wonderful connections we naturally make. Camaraderie and joy can easily be attained. But how about when dissension or bad feelings come up, those need to be handled and dealt with emotionally. Even if you don’t like to interact with people there is a certain spacial sharing humans need.
5.FINANCES: Whether you are working in a career or a job, it’s important to bring value to your and others lives. We are all a part of a cycle of service to mankind, to ourselves and to our Families. Money is an energetic transference. Learn what your skills are and practice being the best you can be.
6.SPIRITUAL: The relationship you create between yourself and the universe. You can fight your life every day or you can come into resonance and be in reverence of all the opportunities and possibilities life has your offer you. If you begin to feel blessed, this will carry into your speaking, your actions and into a better future.Journal Questions:

Happy Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox, Ostara, Eostre, Easter, Vernal Equinox
By Tara Sutphen
• 21st March Spring Equinox marks the mid-point of the Waxing Year, the nights and days are balanced once again; the time when Kore, (Persephone) was believed to have returned from the Underworld where she had ruled throughout the Winter. The spark of light, born at Winter Solstice has reached maturity, and from here onwards, the days progressively grow longer than the nights. Western culture proclaims this the first day of Spring.Older traditions called the Spring Equinox, Ostara; the time of the festivals of the Grecian Goddess, Eostre, and the Germanic Ostara, both fertility Goddesses of Dawn. These influenced the naming of the modern-day Easter Holiday. New greenery bursts forth from sleeping seeds in the countryside, as metaphorically, pagans also plant their own seeds for future goals, future projects and growth at this time.Decorated eggs, being symbols of fertility are symbolic of Ostara. In days gone, Europeans gave gifts of decorated eggs to new brides, in the hope that they would bear many children. Similarly, bowls filled with eggs were given to farm workers by the farmer’s wife, to ensure a rich harvest. Most all cultures see the egg as a symbol of Life; the actual home of the Soul. In Russia, decorated eggs are still given as gifts to loved ones and buried in graves to ensure rebirth. The women gathered the eggs only from hens which were around a rooster and decorated them, allowing no one to watch them work as they transferred the goodness of the household to the designs on the eggs, thus keeping evil away. Dyes were mixed to secret family recipes and special blessings placed on each egg.
Colors of Ostara Eggs:
• White:
• Purity
• Yellow:
• Wisdom, a successful Harvest, or Spirituality
• Green:
• Spring, rebirth, wealth, youth, growth, happiness
• Blue:
• Good health, clear skies
• Orange:

• Black:

Lore:
• The custom of eating Hot Cross Buns also has pagan origins. The Saxons ate buns that were marked with a cross in honor of Eostre; Ancient Greeks consumed these types of buns in their celebrations of Artemis, Goddess of the hunt, and the Egyptians ate a similar cake in their worship of the Goddess Isis.
• There are conflicting ideas as to what the cross symbol represents. One suggestion is that it is a Christianisation of horn symbols that were stamped on cakes to represent an ox, which used to be sacrificed at the time of the Spring Equinox. Another theory relates to Moon worship; the bun representing the full Moon, and the cross, its four quarters. Christianity gave new meanings to the symbolism of the buns, saying the cross represented the Crucifixion Cross. Thus, superstitions arose crediting these buns as being charms against evil, so after Good Friday, people would save one or two of them to hang in their homes as amulets. During the festival season and indeed, for a long time afterwards, fishermen would carry these Easter buns in their boats, for protection.
• The Spring Equinox defines the season where Spring reaches it’s peak, with the powers of light increasing. The God of Light, (Llew), now gains victory over his twin, the God of Darkness. Llew was reborn at the Winter Solstice and is now old and strong enough to vanquish his rival twin and mate with his Mother Goddess. The great Mother Goddess, who returned to her Virgin aspect at Imbolc, welcomes the young Sun God’s attentions and conceives a child. The child will be born nine months from now, at the next Winter Solstice, when the cycle closes, only to begin anew.
• The Easter Bunny is another symbol which has obvious links to fertility, rebirth, and the abundance of life which is evident in Spring.
• Eostre was a playful Goddess whose reign over the earth began in Spring when the Sun King journeyed across the sky in his chariot, bringing the end of Winter. Eostre came down to Earth then, appearing as a beautiful maiden with a basket of bright colorful eggs. Eostre’s magical companion was a rabbit who accompanied her as she brought new life to dying plants and flowers by hiding the eggs in the fields.

Happy Full Wolf Moon

Full Wolf Moon
By Tara Sutphen
The Full Wolf Moon (Native American) at 11* Cancer will culminate January 1, 2018 6:24 AM PsT/9:24 PM EsT (Farmers Almanac/Moon Phases Calendar). The current phase of the moon is a Waxing Gibbous (88.8% illuminated), 11.6 days old and at a distance of 366763 Km (227896 Miles).
This Full Moon in Cancer is about coming together. Your home and family are in the limelight of the moon this month. It’s not only time to work on better relations but to come into mastery and learn on that level, so you can enjoy other aspects of your life and get on the path of your true purpose. Its getting to a place of Love on all levels, real love, true love, unconditional love, self love and romantic love.
So how did the holidays go? Was everyone and everything fine or are you going to have to work on yourself? Or is it back to square one learning coping skills for next year? Did you have enough time for all those you love? Was it quality time? Or were you wasting time with the ones you were subjected to and sometimes give you a headache? Is it you or them? Whats wrong with them after all, is it their need for recognition or are they just party crashers and complainers. Are we here on earth to alleviate our burdens or guilt with our families or close friends. Why are we coming together with the people who we find ourselves gathering around. You may get along with everyone, but do they get along with you?
The many personalities and a simple fix: its best not to be in judgement. It’s best to be someone who settles their inner nature. It’s best to find a peaceable time with those around you. If you’ve achieved this, you are well on your way to experience life at its best. But for some reason people don’t always get along, unless you swallow your opinions on religion and politics and then everything is hunky-dory. And there seems always to be “one black sheep”, whether that’s in a self-destructive category or just the family member who doesn’t follow “rules”. Is the black sheep you? Or are you the peacemaker? What do you bring to the table.
With all the varied personalities around, it can be challenging to have a good time, especially with difficult personalities. There can be confusion on how to handle social events or family gatherings. As they can bring a certain strain. You are to reclaim your life and its gifts, you are to work out any self-consciousness or doubt. You can easily come into your family dynamics, programming, communication style, and/or politeness.
Enjoy your present moment, no matter how simple the task. Creation is a process of constructive movement. Peace in the home does not come from material possessions, it is an attitude. Sentiments, calmness of the spirit, not needing to be right, offering an inner peace goes a long way. Home is where the heart is…
-
Positive Emotions:
Soothe the self. Learn to feel okay. Actuate your emotions into feeling self-assurance or come back to your inner sanctum. You don’t need to create disorder, and don’t react when others are creating chaos or over-reacting. This is about you, and your progression in life. Don’t let others set the tone on what you’re to feel. It’s not a “letting go”, but a “letting it be”.
-
Get-together:
Family and Friend get-togethers can be a place to share and reminisce. Friends should be constructive, soothing and progressive. Families who discuss conflict, provide alternatives, and take action on troubling issues usually feel aligned. Alienation begins when we become fragmented. After all it is natural to individuate from your parents, to man-up or become a woman having your own routine and family. Sometimes you can become relative strangers as families are a collection of styles, perspectives, principles, ages, and different ways of observing professions or service. Listening is a good way to start, and knowing when to leave a conversation quietly. Ask questions, find another commonality.
-
Relationships:
Show up and pay attention to your beloved. Making quality time for another person. If you are in a long term relationship you won’t always be on the same page but if you want to make the relationship work: Engage in eye contact, body contact, and speak sincerely to each other. You won’t think like each other as two individuals are not alike. There can be many things you learn from each other. It should be a supportive relationship in every way. If you treat each other like a best friend, you always will be.
- Meaningfulness:
We want to create significance in our lives. Maybe a place we can start is by looking into someone’s positive qualities over their negative traits. When you don’t expect anything from another, you are just enjoying their very existence. There are different levels of intimacy, starting from unconditional love to the allowance of genuine moments to evolve with those we love. If… we can always stay with how we feel. Finding the way to be content instead of overthinking what we think we need, as reciprocation is tricky, trust is faulty, it’s not about how someone else develops in life; this is about you. This is your development. When your heart is in acceptance, you don’t need to justify why you love; Just Love. When you allow for connection with others, whether they are flawless or not; Just Love. Whether they are in your life for a short or long time; Just Love. Stop questioning, as love makes you a better person. Generating unconditional love allows you to shine. Allow for the life you are searching for…

Happy Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice & Yule
By Tara Sutphen
Dec 21: The Winter Solstice is a celebration of the heart, vessel of our dreams. Through the darkest time on the planet we are to find solace once again, returning to our inner resting place. Gallantly gazing upon our life’s daily uncertainty and unknowing future. May the earth fold us in comfort away from any harshness. As the light dims we are to harmonize and begin to sincerely replenish our hearts and minds. The pagans called this holiday Yule, where the people of Europe and Scandinavia made festive. It is not considered religious. The pagans were naturalists, such as the Native Americans and other indigenous communities around the world. They followed the course of the sun, the moon and cycles of the seasons for planting food and generally planning survival strategy. As winter comes we recognize our need to rest our minds, hearts and bodies while warming at the hearth. And as we come back out of the darkest day-night of the year and begin to gain more minutes of sunlight and replenishment each day. We linger for a glimmer of light to awaken, reconnecting our spark to life, to the sun and the conviviality of our own beating heart.

—“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is on a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.” ~Martha Graham – American Dancer, Teacher & Choreographer (1894-1991)

Friday the 13th Facts
Here are a few fun facts of Friday the 13th to get you in the mood that it’s a good day:
o The US Seal has 13 stars, bars, feathers in the eagle’s tail, 13 bars in one claw, 13 olive branches in the other.
o The Chinese, Pagans and others in ancient times marked time by the lunar cycle and calendar, thus 13 was considered a very lucky number.
o Egyptian philosophy believes life is a mission for the eternal afterlife. This journey walks through 13 levels, the first 12 in this life, at death the 13th level. The number 13 symbolizes death as glorious and attaining “real life”. But you must go through the 12 stages first.
o Fear of Friday the 13th is called Triskaidekaphobia.
o The fear of Friday the 13th started as a Norse Myth where 12 gods were having a party in Valhalla (Heaven) and capricious Loki came as the 13th guest and arranged for Hoder the Blind to shoot Baider the Beautiful with a mistletoe tipped arrow where he died and the earth grew dark.

Happy Full Harvest Moon

Full Harvest Moon
By Tara Sutphen
The Full Harvest Moon (Native American) at 12* Aries will culminate October 5, 2017 11:40 AM PdT/2:40 PM EdT (Farmers Almanac/Moon Phases Calendar). The current phase of the moon is a Waxing Gibbous (97.4% illuminated), 13.3 days old and at a distance of 384079 Km (238655 Miles).
This Full Moon in Aries is all about coming into your forward movement and assertiveness. Speak what you mean, mean what you say and move your body to achieve. A lot of ideas get into our heads but they can get stuck there, we have to get out of our own way over and over again. Haven’t you heard where someone invents something and you had that idea too…well they acted on their notion. Instead of seeing an outcome clearly, we just need to take a stride toward it. One step follows another and then all of a sudden we can use our understanding for viable plans. Being self-assured in communications allows an expression of needs and wants. Learning to be in calm discussions teaches us to respect the feelings and needs of others.
Have you learned to communicate yet? Are you passive or aggressive? Where are you assertive? Do you feel you have a confidence issue? Are you wanting to achieve too much in a single discussion or opinion?
- Basic Assertion: self- disclosure
- Sympathetic Assertion: recognition of others feelings, needs and wants
- Importance Assertion: consequences to self or someone else
- Disagreement Assertion: Misunderstanding
- Damaging Assertion: Negative feelings and acts
Asserting the voice and the body are two different things. Its best to convey ourselves and then act appropriately. The one thing is to remember you have to decide on what you want. When you make a decision, you may not know exactly what to do or where you are going but you have an inkling. While not thinking too hard sometimes, we can manage to move toward what we want in life. Whether its feeding ourselves correctly, working for a good life or having goals to accomplish. Actively Face your Fears – Allow yourself to “Dream and Do”.
