We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Sutphen, and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tara, we’d love to hear what makes you happy. Tara:  Looking inside to be cheerful. Even when I’m not sure of what that looks like, as happiness is a work in progress of fleeting feelings. Life is about presence, being genuine, and authentic. So many people struggle with shyness, lack of confidence, and fear. I love hypnotherapy as it bolsters the spirit, eases the mind, and sparks the body into activation. I use my psychic and hypnotherapist abilities to offer solutions. There is always a way out. My inner happiness may not always be giddy, but I’m deeply content; my path came early… to help others is my calling. Oh, and, deep happiness for me too… is to love horses, I do horse therapy too.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans, and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work. Tara: I could say it wasn’t a planned career, but every person I’ve met and all the events I’ve experienced are predestined. I faced many trials on my journey, which gave me a great depth of empathy and understanding. I am content and fulfilled with my purpose. I have always combined hypnotherapy and psychic ability together with my clients, students, and seminar groups.

At merely six weeks old, I danced with death, a fragile infant caught in a 7 1/2 hour surgery, given last rites, and not expected to survive. The NDE I had gave me an awareness that would guide me. As a baby and toddler, I was very aware of everyone’s issues and feelings. At eight years old, I was hemorrhaging and moved onto the operating table just as I had the last gasp, experiencing the euphoria and white light and having conversations with Ethereal beings. Yet another close call further deepened my awareness of mortality. It was during these moments that my psychic abilities emerged even further, leading me to connections with shaman, priests, and holy humans. They recognized in me as a kindred spirit, a vessel of untapped potential, and approached me easily. When I was young, I thought everyone experienced this…my world has been filled with “the seers”.

Raised in diverse environments, from the streets of the San Francisco Bay Area to the serene landscapes of Alaska, my upbringing was infused with a rich tapestry of cultural influences. The deep connection to nature, my horses, and the spiritual realm is evident in my practices, as I incorporate elements of shamanism and mysticism into my sessions.

I found that the combination of hypnotherapy and psychic intuition created a powerful synergy. Hypnotherapy allowed clients to access their subconscious, uncovering hidden fears and traumas, while my psychic abilities offered insights that transcended the conventional therapeutic boundaries. When I first ventured into the realm of hypnotherapy, it was with a sense of curiosity and purpose. I began to psychically connect using my innate divination skills. I sought to delve deeper into the subconscious of the querent. The practice of Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Clairsentience, and Automatic-Writing became bridges, allowing me to channel insights and messages that emerged during in-depth trance sessions. In this sacred space, clients would often relive their past traumas, uncover fragments of past lives, or past experiences of this life, where they sought my perceptions in each session. I’d uncover hidden layers of their issues while they were under hypnosis. I would be looking for solutions and seeking direction for their issues and problems. My experiences fostered a profound understanding of life, death, and the unseen forces that bind us all. This unique journey has not only shaped my career but has also sculpted my philosophy toward healing and self-discovery.

My purpose has crystallized into a mission of healing, understanding, and growth. The trials I faced—each near-death experience, each moment of vulnerability—have become my greatest teachers, guiding me to serve others with compassion and insight.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?Tara Exploring the Soul of Los Angeles with Friends!

When welcoming a friend to the vibrant city of Los Angeles, I always aim to craft an experience that is as refreshing as it is fulfilling. Upon picking them up at the airport, my first stop is always “Cafe Gratitude” in Venice, known for its nourishing, plant-based dishes that leave you feeling energized and inspired. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for rekindling our friendship after a long flight. As they head off to bed I give the a Nuskin rejuvenating and hydration face mask to use.

After a restful night, before coffee, I offer them a Lifewave X39 patch, to stimulate light wavelengths which help activate stem cells. I then love to introduce my friends to the healing power of horses. We head to the most serene location, my barn, where I offer horse therapy, allowing them to connect with these magnificent creatures. Whether it’s on a massage table or engaging in shamanic exercises, this experience is transformative and grounding. Following our equine adventures, we unwind with infused herbal teas at The Healing Tree in Thousand Oaks, a cozy spot that promotes relaxation and rejuvenation.

As the sun sets, it’s time to indulge in the culinary richness of LA. The city is a treasure trove of Mexican cuisine, and I often recommend Sabor in Valencia for a delightful dinner. The ambiance is enchanting, and the flavors are authentic, making it an unforgettable dining experience. Other favorite evening spots include The Odyssey in Granada Hills, where you can enjoy stunning views alongside delicious meals, and Cafe Habana in Malibu, known for its vibrant atmosphere and flavorful dishes.

For a touch of elegance, Gracias Madre in Beverly Hills offers a unique twist on traditional Mexican food, featuring organic and locally sourced ingredients. If my friends are in the mood for a romantic setting, Tra di Noi in Malibu is a must-visit, combining Italian flair.

During their visit, I also love to explore the natural beauty of the area. We stroll through the Huntington Gardens, a serene escape filled with lush landscapes and diverse plant collections, or visit the Lake Shrine, a peaceful spot ideal for meditation and reflection. And of course, no trip to LA would be complete without a wander along the beautiful beaches, where the sound of the waves provides a perfect backdrop for heartfelt conversations. Gallery’s, movies, plays and events are a must in the city as well.

Lastly, I often set up a session at my treatment room for some hypnotherapy from me, allowing my friend to unwind and explore the depths of their consciousness in a supportive environment.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?“Born Again to Be Together” is a heartfelt testament to the profound connections and unwavering support that shape our lives. Central to this narrative is Cynthia Hudson, the inspiring owner of Aspiring Magazine, whose encouragement ignites a flame of creativity not just within me but in countless other Angelenos. Her friendship acts as a beacon, guiding us to produce work that not only inspires but also aspires us to reach new heights.

The bonds I share with my best friends, Carmen Anderson and Marla Maples, are woven through decades of unwavering support and soul-deep connections. Each shared laugh, tear, and triumph adds layers to our friendship, making it a sanctuary where we can be our true selves. I often reflect on how fortunate I am to have collected such incredible individuals in my life. They are the very essence of humanity—kind, encouraging, and relentlessly uplifting.

Family plays an equally significant role in this tapestry of love and support. My family—William, Hunter, Cheyenne, and Everest—stand by me like pillars, offering strength and reassurance. The love from my brothers, Scott and Jason, my sister Amy, and our dear mother, Marianne, is an unwavering force that reminds me that no matter the challenges we face, love is always the answer.

This narrative isn’t merely about the people who surround me; it’s a celebration of the community we build together—a community that thrives on encouragement, camaraderie, and the shared belief that we can achieve greatness when we uplift one another. In a world that often feels chaotic, these relationships remind me that love and support can conquer all, and together, we can rise and aspire to be even more.

In my book “Soul Writers,” I have woven the essence of my friendship with Jess Stearn into a tapestry of shared wisdom and exploration. Jess was not just a friend; he was a kindred spirit, a beacon of light in my life, and our decades-long friendship.

Jess Stearn (April 27, 1914 – March 27, 2002) was an American journalist and author of more than thirty books, nine of which were bestsellers. We met in Hollywood at an Italian restaurant where people came to sing “opera”. The Lords of Fate clapped that day. Jess soon introduced me to my future husband, whom I married on his deck overlooking the ocean in Malibu. Each baby I had, he was present with the family in the waiting room. But he was especially tickled when I had a baby on his birthday! All holidays and everyday life was filled with camaraderie.

As we navigated topics like the power of intention, the significance of dreams, and the potential of human consciousness, I felt an exhilarating sense of awakening. He taught me that the boundaries of reality were often self-imposed, and that the exploration of metaphysics and the paranormal was not just an intellectual pursuit but a deeply personal journey toward understanding oneself and the universe.

As the years passed and my own work began to unfold, I started to realize how profoundly our paths had intertwined. Coincidentally, my research and pursuits began to mirror some of his own. The themes we once discussed—reincarnation, the nature of consciousness, and the exploration of psychic phenomena—found their way into my professional life. I found myself writing, teaching, and sharing insights that echoed the very ideas we had passionately debated on those warm evenings filled with laughter, wonder and lots of orange juice and/or my home cooking..

The experience of automatic writing has been both humbling and exhilarating. It is as if Jess, in his new form, is still passionately exploring the very questions that once consumed him. Each session feels like a dialogue with his spirit, as if we are continuing the conversations we once had, albeit on a different plane of existence. The messages that emerge are often profound, shedding light on the nature of the soul, the continuity of consciousness, and the interconnectedness of all beings. He challenged me to think critically and to embrace a unique voice, reminding me that every story is worth telling.

Psychic Danger Signs

Psychic Danger Signs

By Tara Sutphen CHt

I looked up at the sky and thought to myself; the line

clouds are staring at me. They were not chemtrails, they were actual

line clouds. The type my dear deceased friend Treesa used to

excitedly tell me about and read as an “I Ching” message. So I got off

the freeway and I put the “I Ching” message on my iPhone

notes to check when I got home. It was January 6th, 2025 and it

had been a calm day. Upon sitting down at home and opening

the I Ching book: My eyes popped open as I read the message:

“Danger”.

The meaning: It is careless to goad danger but critical not to

shrink from it. When dangerous conditions present themselves,

you must remain calm in the chaos. Gather your courage. Stay

Brave, Alert, and Focused.

First special message: Wait and let things reveal themselves.

Strive for clarity of mind. The way out of danger is blocked. There

will be a time of disorder, all you can do is wait…keep

persevering in high-minded conduct, and you become a living

example to your family and fellow man. Inspire others to create

order, thus you and others will be protected.

I know better than to just wave this message away! I wondered

Whoa, what is up!?” The next morning, I was getting ready to head to Pacific Palisades to

do sessions with five attorneys. We had changed our schedule the month

before because of the Franklin Fire in Malibu. And now we had another

“RFW – Red Flag Warning”. I got a text on my phone to stop forward progress

toward the residence I was going to visit. A fire had broken out in

the Palisades. Again this visual came up for me; my “inner sight”

would see a front door, swinging open and I would walk in and a

chair would be there with a printed throw over it and a lamp

which was turned on, and then as I looked deeper into the room,

it would be “only blackness”. I saw this vision a few times when I

thought of the destination, it would then fade into nothingness.

I would think, what is going on…

And yes… the house burnt down.

When do you take your psychic self seriously? I’m someone who

has always seen/heard/felt intuitively and experiences or sees

psychic symbols, which are images, signs, or even objects that

hold a specific message. I would write many of my observations or

hunches down when I first wanted to keep a track record. I still

record much of what I interpret when I’m reading for others.

I consider the “I Ching” shamanic symbolism. The I Ching, also

known as the Book of Changes, is an ancient Chinese divination

text used for guidance and decision-making, containing 64

hexagrams (six-line figures of yin and yang lines) and

philosophical commentaries.

I wondered who would be giving me messages in the sky? Would

Treesa be that powerful? Is it a message from God or the

Angels? Definitely, the cloud formations were a warning from

some higher powers that be.

Many of us get these messages all the time, but we put them off

as they don’t fit our schedule or mindset. I teach psychic ability,

just for times like this… many think it’s to be a psychic reader, but

it’s for everyone to open their mind to observe how we can be safe and

head in the direction that serves our lives. Safety first,

health second, success third, love fourth, and fun and games

fifth.

How do you recognize “psychic danger” signs? You could have a

dream or even a daydream. You can hear something and it’s

repeated. You can have the inner knowing, or you can feel it

deeply in your gut. Is your mind awakened to these messages?

It’s much different than just being a fearful person or worrywart.

You know when you are going toward “good energy”. And it’s

best if you do mental conditioning and exercises to begin to see

patterns or signs if you’re curious or too worried.

Many people mix up reality and illusion in psychic predictions.

And this is where people are leery of learning simple techniques.

The reality is as humans we are traveling on planet Earth which is

jettisoning approximately 65,000 mph through space. As a

species, we are all afraid of change. Gravity keeps us rooted on the planet,

it is the reason we age… maybe it’s a blessing that it is much slower than it could be. Our senses are dimmed.

Therefore our antenna isn’t as sharp as it could be. We have to

study things, our natural radiance is squashed due to the gravity

pull. As souls, we don’t remember where we came from or where

we’ll go when we die. It could be a dilemma, but it really isn’t. So

many people clip-clop through life without care for themselves

or others and still make it to a departure date. But wouldn’t it be

nicer if we individually released some of that gravity weighing us

down and began an easier path of a good-to-great destiny?

Tuning into our “tingler-senses”.

I had near-death experiences and I had to manage what I was

seeing, hearing, and feeling. I found hypnosis and wrangled it in…

I was a wide-open vessel and found that largely others need to

practice opening their senses once again. Usually, people who

are worrying a lot are empathetic but don’t know where it comes from… could be a person next to you on the street, in a store, family, or friends.

A few years ago, I heard a woman at my barn say “I’m going to

die if I try to ride my horse bareback” and at the time, why did I

have to hear that…I could’ve come an hour earlier? But then, I

heard her say “die” again and then again. And I knew, I was the

one who had to do something. So when she got on her horse, I

held him at the reins on the off side. Thankfully, as the near side

was a big wooden mounting platform I would’ve been

thrown into it. In seconds, I was in the chest of this horse as it

was rearing. The horse was stumbling backwards, me still

attached of course and the owner thrown to the ground. The

horse was going to fall on this woman, so I yanked him in the air

to fall the opposite way. The woman didn’t even notice she was

in danger.

My horses are lambs. But I work with them almost every day and

if not me, my horse nanny Kelly. I do horse therapy too. And all

the horses I’ve used in horse therapy have really liked it. When I

would show up, they would all beg to be chosen to work with me

and the client. I’m naturally inclined to “Horse Healers”.

But let’s face it, we find ourselves in dilemmas each and every

day. Driving. Crossing the street. Tripping over our own feet.

So what incredible skill would you like to learn first? Tuning

into your past, present, and/or future?

Clairvoyant – Clear sight and visions through their mind.

Clairsentient – Clear feeling and tuning in to feel your feelings.

Clairaudient – Clear hearing and audible messages from their

higher self, your higher self, their spirit guides, or angels.

Claircognizant – Clear knowing – gut feelings and inner and

outer knowing. Listen to yourself and others as they give the greatest clue on

where you need to start developing instincts. Remarks such

as “I hear ya”, “yes, I see”, “I know” “ya know”, or “I feel for

you” — Identifying in some way gives you clues on what is

your and others’ strongest Clair.

And if you are getting bad thoughts or feelings. What might it

mean? And if you are worrying raise your vibration and you

can say some prayers. And this is the bottom line: Using your

psychic ability is to gain clear and practical advice, not create

instability or chaos. It is to stabilize your heart and mind.

Helping you make the right choice and not a wrong turn. It’s

all about you and becoming your best self, your healthy you.

5-Day Psychic Intuitive Course

Communicate Effectively

To be effective we need to know how to put into practice our communication skills.
1. Inner Knowing
What are you interested in? Are you building your self-esteem and confidence. What are your personal skills that you’ve developed. They don’t need to be academic or athletic skills, they can be being a good friend, mother, father or liking pets.
2. Sincerity
Connect with others when they are speaking. Your mind takes breathes, so you don’t always hear everything someone is saying to you. It’s easier in life if you are kind and leave everyone with a smile or appreciation.
3. Consistency
We don’t do any favors to anyone if we can’t keep our word, pull our weight and practice what we preach. Emotional Consistency is a key ingredient to lasting happiness. Integrity to your family and those you love are important.
4. Compromise
Knowing how to share.
5. Listening
Building a bond
6. Be Polite
Everyone deserves respect.
7. Ask & Receive
Effectively ask questions. The Answers might not always be from the person you asked but if we are patient the answer will not elude us.
8. Sharing
When we help and support others. Others help and support us.
9. Teaching
When we contribute what we know, we allow others to create a way to take care of themselves. Everyone interprets their way of doing things.
10. Do not interrupt
Listen more than talk
11. Ask questions
Be interested about others and our world
12. Curiosity
Don’t lose your curiosity, stimulate your mind by learning new things. Its considered one of the key things to staying youthful.

Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox, Ostara, Eostre, Easter, Vernal Equinox
By Tara Sutphen

Spring Equinox is March 20, 2022 and marks the mid-point of the Waxing Year, the nights and days are balanced once again; the time when Kore, (Persephone) was believed to have returned from the Underworld where she had ruled throughout the Winter. The spark of light, born at Winter Solstice has reached maturity, and from here onwards, the days progressively grow longer than the nights.

Western culture proclaims this the first day of Spring. Older traditions called the Spring Equinox, Ostara; the time of the festivals of the Grecian Goddess, Eostre, and the Germanic Ostara, both fertility Goddesses of Dawn. These influenced the naming of the modern-day Easter Holiday. New greenery bursts forth from sleeping seeds in the countryside, as metaphorically, pagans also plant their own seeds for future goals, future projects and growth at this time. Decorated eggs, being symbols of fertility are symbolic of Ostara.

In days gone, Europeans gave gifts of decorated eggs to new brides, in the hope that they would bear many children. Similarly, bowls filled with eggs were given to farm workers by the farmer’s wife, to ensure a rich harvest. Most all cultures see the egg as a symbol of Life; the actual home of the Soul. In Russia, decorated eggs are still given as gifts to loved ones and buried in graves to ensure rebirth. The women gathered the eggs only from hens which were around a rooster and decorated them, allowing no one to watch them work as they transferred the goodness of the household to the designs on the eggs, thus keeping evil away. Dyes were mixed to secret family recipes and special blessings placed on each egg.

Colors of Ostara Eggs:
White:

Yellow:

Blue:

Orange:

Brown:
Enrichment, good harvest, happiness
Purple:
Faith, trust, power
Pink:
Success, friendship, love
Black:

Lore:
The custom of eating Hot Cross Buns also has pagan origins. The Saxons ate buns that were marked with a cross in honor of Eostre; Ancient Greeks consumed these types of buns in their celebrations of Artemis, Goddess of the hunt, and the Egyptians ate a similar cake in their worship of the Goddess Isis.
There are conflicting ideas as to what the cross symbol represents. One suggestion is that it is a Christianisation of horn symbols that were stamped on cakes to represent an ox, which used to be sacrificed at the time of the Spring Equinox. Another theory relates to Moon worship; the bun representing the full Moon, and the cross, its four quarters. Christianity gave new meanings to the symbolism of the buns, saying the cross represented the Crucifixion Cross. Thus, superstitions arose crediting these buns as being charms against evil, so after Good Friday, people would save one or two of them to hang in their homes as amulets. During the festival season and indeed, for a long time afterwards, fishermen would carry these Easter buns in their boats, for protection.
The Spring Equinox defines the season where Spring reaches it’s peak, with the powers of light increasing. The God of Light, (Llew), now gains victory over his twin, the God of Darkness. Llew was reborn at the Winter Solstice and is now old and strong enough to vanquish his rival twin and mate with his Mother Goddess. The great Mother Goddess, who returned to her Virgin aspect at Imbolc, welcomes the young Sun God’s attentions and conceives a child. The child will be born nine months from now, at the next Winter Solstice, when the cycle closes, only to begin anew.
The Easter Bunny is another symbol which has obvious links to fertility, rebirth, and the abundance of life which is evident in Spring.
Eostre was a playful Goddess whose reign over the earth began in Spring when the Sun King journeyed across the sky in his chariot, bringing the end of Winter. Eostre came down to Earth then, appearing as a beautiful maiden with a basket of bright colorful eggs. Eostre’s magical companion was a rabbit who accompanied her as she brought new life to dying plants and flowers by hiding the eggs in the fields. Traditional Foods

How to have Positive Emotions

How to have Positive Emotions:
Soothe the self. Learn to feel okay. Practice peace of mind. Actuate your emotions into feeling self-assurance or come back to your inner sanctum. You don’t need to create disorder, and don’t react when others are creating chaos or over-reacting. This is about you, and your progression in life. Don’t let others set the tone on what you’re to feel. It’s not a “letting go”, but a “letting it be”. ~Tara Sutphen #rejuvenation #reactivate #tarasutphen #mindfulness #meditation #tarasutphenprivatesessions #tarainsightdotcom

Living in Grace

The way to gain a steady life is making wise decisions and carefully selecting people, places and things. If your having a hard time and people aren’t being kind, know you are being given road signs and sometimes the only way to change is when the neon sign is blinking before you. Allow your life to be graceful. ~TaraSutphen
